4/25/2024 0 Comments Attack on titan season 2 game![]() The best part of the story is that it’s from your own perspective.Īt the beginning of the game you make your own character. Since the game covers Season 1 and 2, you’ll get to defend Trost, fight the Female Titan, battle Zeke, and partake in most other major events. The remaining humans build a city behind a number of huge walls, and train young men and women to battle Titans. For those who don’t know, humanity has nearly gone extinct after the appearance of Titans, large humanoid creatures that seem to exist purely to eat people. The story of Attack on Titan 2 is largely the same as the first, but with additional plotlines from Season 2 added on. It’s only natural that I would go into the sequel with high hopes, and while not much has changed between games, Attack on Titan 2 still gives you one hell of a ride. Though I’ve had my grievances with the series itself, I found the game to be an exceptional, blood-pumping action game that perfectly captured the idea of Attack on Titan. MonsterVine was supplied with a PS4 code for reviewīack in 2016 I reviewed the first Attack on Titan game. Platform: PS4 (reviewed), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, and PC Though flying between buildings can be glitchy at times, the gloriously gory action and surprising breadth of content makes Attack on Titan 2 a fantastic and worthwhile action game. You'd be better off watching or reading what inspired it instead.Like the first game, Attack on Titan 2 is an exciting and addictive action game that really makes you feel like a high-flying monster slayer. It's unfortunate a series so action-packed and swelling with interesting stories gets such a dull game. The friendship system is similarly clunky, even inconsistent at times. It's just a lot, especially since sometimes your hits won't "count" if you're going too slow, weren't targeting anything specific, or were at the wrong angle. You're expected to swing around a battlefield, target specific parts of gargantuan enemies, lead your squad, and give orders (by holding another button that further re-maps all the buttons). When you pull one trigger, almost all the buttons do something else. Otherwise, you're in for a bumpy ride, because the controls are hard to learn. There's also a new friendship system, designed to give your downtime between missions a little more focus: You'll have conversations with other soldiers, and if you answer correctly enough times, your bond will unlock abilities they can share, like extra healing out in the field. ![]() What's new here is a more refined interface and more complexity to the game's controls in operating the omnidirectional mobility gear (a mix between a jet pack and Spider-Man's web-slinging). Once you've gotten into the gameplay, you'll be worn out and fatigued by the dull journey of getting there. It's absurd, but this game truly lacks new content to be a proper sequel. But, without exaggeration, after you create your own character, you're in for nearly 10 hours of re-experiencing the first game's story with missions, fights, and story scenes you've seen before if you played the previous game - which itself was repetitive and only average. Series devotees are most likely to love this game anyway, and will appreciate the detail and feel of the world: Sometimes you'll wonder if a cinematic playing out is the game or something lifted straight from the show's second season, not yet out in America. Surprisingly, Attack on Titan 2 has many of the same story cutscenes from Attack on Titan - along with technical issues like stuttering gameplay on consoles and even higher-end computers. ![]() Bad news for people who played the original 2016 game, because this is largely the same game, with the same technical issues and repetitive play that made that one underwhelming.
